THE CONCIERGE
Frequently Asked Questions
As fellow dancers and cruise enthusiasts, we know that setting sail on an adventure like this comes with plenty of operational and logistical questions. To ensure a seamless planning experience, we’ve broken down all the essential details below. Take a look through these categories to find exactly what you need before we hit the high seas.
I. Securing Your Journey
Can I book my stateroom directly through Celebrity Cruises or another travel agent?
No. To protect the intimacy and exclusivity of this boutique event, all accommodations must be reserved directly through our Official Reservation Portal or by contacting our dedicated travel team. Cabins booked independently will not be granted access to the private venues, workshops, or social dancing events.
If I have already booked my stateroom directly with Celebrity Cruises, can I transfer it into the Dancecation group?
Yes, but this process is heavily restricted by cruise line regulations. Celebrity Cruises only permits reservations to be transferred into a private group block within 30 days of the original booking date, provided the stateroom is not yet paid in full. Because integrating an outside reservation into our protected, curated block requires manual administrative intervention and contract adjustments, we require a $250 administrative transfer fee. If your booking qualifies under Celebrity’s strict 30-day window, please reach out to us directly, and our team will handle the complex logistics to secure your access to the private events.
Are taxes, port fees, and cruise gratuities included in the price?
Your stateroom fare completely incorporates all mandatory taxes and port fees of $156.58. Standard cruise gratuities are governed directly by Celebrity Cruises and will be automatically applied to your onboard SeaPass account based on your stateroom category.
Why is registration unavailable to residents of California and Hawaii?
Due to strict state-level travel agency regulations and Seller of Travel laws, we are legally unable to accept reservations from residents of California or Hawaii. Any registrations submitted with billing addresses from these states will be immediately canceled and fully refunded.
How exactly do I book my spot for Dancecation?
Securing your spot is a mandatory two-step process. Step 1: Purchase your Event Pass (or VIP Pass) through our website. This secures your spot for all private workshops, social dancing, and event activities. Step 2: Once your pass is purchased, you will receive an official booking link to place the deposit for your stateroom. Please note: Purchasing an Event Pass does not automatically book your cabin. You must complete both steps to sail with us. Booking a cabin outside of our exclusive group block is not permitted and will invalidate your Event Pass.
If I am paired with a roommate, are we guaranteed two separate beds?
We submit all roommate pairings to Celebrity Cruises with a strict request for the standard two-twin bed configuration. However, because our exclusive group block utilizes Guarantee (GTY) stateroom inventory, Celebrity Cruises maintains absolute control over the final physical room assignments and bed configurations. While it is standard practice for the cruise line to provide split beds for non-related guests, Dancecation cannot 100% guarantee the physical layout of the cabin assigned by the ship. By utilizing the Roommate Matching Waitlist, you acknowledge that Dancecation is not liable for Celebrity Cruises’ final room assignments or bed configurations.
II. Event Logistics & Accommodations
Do you offer single-occupancy staterooms?
Yes, solo travelers are absolutely welcome! However, to protect the intimacy of our event (strictly capped at 100 attendees), all 50 staterooms within our exclusive block require double occupancy. If you are traveling solo, please purchase your Event Pass first and select the Roommate Matching Waitlist on the registration form. Do not pay a cabin deposit yet. Once a suitable roommate registers, we will connect you both to coordinate your official stateroom booking. Please note that we do not offer single-occupancy cabin buyouts for this specific voyage.
Can I pay the stateroom deposit for both myself and my roommate?
Yes. If you are traveling with a predetermined roommate, one guest may provide the full $500 deposit to secure the stateroom. However, both guests must individually complete our official registration form. This is a strict requirement to ensure both travelers have formally agreed to the Event Code of Conduct, liability waivers, and cancellation policies, and to collect the necessary information for the ship’s manifest.
Can the beds in my stateroom be separated?
Yes. By default, Celebrity Beyond staterooms are configured with one Premium King-sized bed. If you are traveling with a roommate, simply request a configuration change in your cruise planner or notify your stateroom attendant upon arrival, and the bed can be seamlessly separated into two comfortable twin beds.
When is the final payment due for my stateroom?
Your initial stateroom deposit must be finalized by October 7, 2026. The final payment deadline for your final stateroom balance is November 9, 2026. Any staterooms not paid in full by this final deadline will be automatically canceled, subject to standard cruise line penalty policies.
What is excluded from my stateroom fare?
Your base cabin fare covers your luxury accommodations, mandatory taxes and port fees, and access to all complimentary dining venues onboard. However, premium enhancements such as WiFi, beverage packages, specialty dining, spa treatments, and shore excursions are not included and should be purchased separately through your Celebrity Cruise Planner.
Are there any sailing restrictions for medical conditions or pregnancy?
Celebrity Cruises enforces strict medical liability policies to ensure guest safety at sea. Most notably, Celebrity will not permit any guest who will enter their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during, the voyage to sail. We highly recommend all guests review Celebrity Cruises’ standard medical requirements if they have any pre-existing health concerns.
III. The Masterpiece: The Dance Experience
Is Dancecation at Sea suitable for all skill levels?
Yes. While the environment is highly curated and focused on deep technical mastery, Champion pros Hugo Miguez and Stacy Kay excel at elevating dancers at any stage of their journey. The intimacy of our event ensures you receive personalized, hands-on attention rather than getting lost in a crowded ballroom.
What is the difference between the Signature Pass and the Champions’ Tier Pass?
The Signature Pass provides full access to our 8 hours of masterclasses, 21 hours of private nightlife, and the opening mixer. The Champions’ Tier is a strict VIP elevation that unlocks closed-door Q&As, a private dinner with the pros, a professional photo shoot, and exclusive access to purchase our talent-led excursion in the Dominican Republic.
Can I upgrade my Signature Pass to a Champions’ Tier VIP Pass after booking?
Yes, provided there is still space available. To preserve the intimate and exclusive nature of the VIP experience, the Champions’ Tier is strictly capped at exactly 50 guests. If you have already secured a Signature Pass and wish to elevate your experience to the Champions’ Tier, please contact our dedicated travel team directly at bookings@bktravel.net or by calling 757-870-3709. We will check current availability and manually adjust your registration invoice to include the upgrade.
What is the dress code for the dance events?
We embrace the Celebrity Beyond’s “relaxed luxury” philosophy, meaning your comfort is the priority. As you transition from a day in the Caribbean sun to an evening of social dancing, jeans, t-shirts, and shorts are completely welcome on our private floor. We simply require that swimwear and bare feet remain on the resort decks. While the standard atmosphere is effortlessly casual, we invite all guests to elevate their wardrobe for our signature Caribbean Blue Fancy Night.
What is the Caribbean Blue Fancy Night?
To celebrate the breathtaking environment of our voyage, Tuesday, February 23, is designated as our signature Caribbean Blue Fancy Night. We invite all guests to elevate their evening wardrobe and join us on the private dance floor in their finest blue-themed formal or cocktail attire. It is the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photos and celebrate the elegance of the Caribbean with your fellow guests.
Can I request specific songs during the social dancing events?
To protect the artistic flow and energy of the evening, our social floors are exclusively curated by our lead DJ, Josh Angel. With over a decade of international experience, Josh is a master at reading the room and setting an unparalleled atmosphere without the need for an open request line.
Can I book private lessons with Hugo and Stacy during the cruise?
Guests who wish to book private lessons must contact Hugo and Stacy directly. They will manage their own availability, schedules, and lesson times independently of the main event programming.
Will we be expected to rotate partners during the masterclasses?
Yes. To build community and maximize the educational value of the workshops, you should expect to rotate partners throughout all classes. If, for any specific reason, you do not wish to rotate, you must notify Hugo and Stacy directly before the workshop begins so they can accommodate your request.
Is there a Code of Conduct for the private events?
Yes. Dancecation at Sea is an exclusive, luxury community experience. To protect the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests, we enforce a strict Code of Conduct. The Event Directors reserve the right to cut the wristband and permanently revoke access to all private venues, workshops, and socials for any guest behaving inappropriately or unprofessionally, without any refund.
IV. Life Aboard The Canvas (The Celebrity Beyond)
Do I need a passport to board the Celebrity Beyond?
While the cruise departs and returns to Fort Lauderdale, FL, a valid passport is strongly recommended for all guests to ensure a seamless and premium travel experience as we navigate through the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, and St. Kitts & Nevis.
Can I bring my own beverages onboard?
Celebrity Cruises allows guests to bring up to two (2) 750ml bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom in their carry-on luggage on embarkation day. Beer and hard liquor are strictly prohibited from being brought onboard.
How are dietary restrictions handled?
The Celebrity Beyond features a world-class culinary team equipped to handle virtually any dietary need or allergy. To ensure absolute accuracy, you will manage and submit these specific preferences directly through the official Celebrity Cruises app prior to sailing, ensuring the ship’s chefs are fully prepared for your arrival.
Can I bring my family or a non-dancing partner?
Absolutely. Non-dancing partners, family members, or children are welcome to share your stateroom and enjoy the breathtaking amenities of the Celebrity Beyond, including the fully supervised Camp at Sea for younger cruisers. They simply do not need to purchase an Event Pass.
V. Elevating Your Experience (Upgrades & Add-Ons)
How do bar tabs work onboard? Should I purchase a Beverage Package?
The Celebrity Beyond operates on a seamless, cashless SeaPass system. Whether you are enjoying a craft cocktail at the Martini Bar, watching the sunset at the Sunset Bar, or grabbing late-night drinks on our private dance floor at The Club, all purchases are charged directly to your room. To elevate your experience and enjoy your vacation without keeping track of a running tab, we highly recommend purchasing your beverage package upgrades prior to January 21, 2027.
Can I pre-book spa treatments or access the SEA Thermal Suite?
Absolutely, and it is highly recommended. Dancing for 29 hours requires elite recovery. The Celebrity Beyond features a world-class Spa and the highly exclusive SEA Thermal Suite, which includes eight nature-inspired therapeutic experiences like the Crystalarium and Hammam. Because these luxury recovery spaces and massage appointments sell out rapidly, we highly recommend securing your Thermal Suite Pass or spa treatments prior to January 21, 2027.
How do I secure my spot on the official Dancecation shore excursions?
Our curated island experiences—including the signature St. Kitts group excursion and the ultra-exclusive Dominican Republic VIP excursion (reserved strictly for Champions’ Tier guests)—are deliberately capacity-controlled to preserve their intimacy. You will receive exclusive access links to purchase these excursions in your post-registration welcome packet. We highly recommend purchasing your excursions prior to January 21, 2027, to guarantee your placement before they sell out.
Should I purchase Travel Insurance for Dancecation at Sea?
Yes. Because our Event Passes are strictly non-refundable and Celebrity Cruises enforces rigid cabin cancellation penalties, we highly recommend protecting your investment with comprehensive travel insurance. Purchasing a policy—especially one with “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) coverage—provides the ultimate peace of mind, ensuring your luxury vacation is fully protected against unforeseen medical, travel, or personal disruptions.
VI. The Inaugural Memorabilia & The Grand Drawing
How do I purchase official Dancecation memorabilia?
Our commemorative event packages are available for purchase at any time through our official online storefront. Your items will be shipped directly to whatever location you choose during checkout, allowing you to order your gear whenever you are ready.
Will memorabilia be available for purchase onboard the ship?
No. There will be absolutely no memorabilia or apparel available for purchase onboard the ship. To keep the focus entirely on the dance and vacation experience rather than retail logistics, all packages must be ordered online through our digital storefront.
How do I enter The Grand Drawing?
To celebrate our inaugural voyage, we have partnered with premium dance brands to create The Grand Drawing. Every Official Memorabilia package purchased from our digital storefront automatically unlocks complimentary entries into the onboard Grand Dfrawing. The tier of the memorabilia package you select directly determines the number of entries you earn. No additional purchase beyond the memorabilia package is necessary to enter.
How do I get my physical Grand Drawing tickets?
Because our official merchandise is strictly print-on-demand, your physical items (hoodies, tumblers, etc.) will be shipped directly to your home address so you can pack them for the trip. However, your physical Grand Drawing tickets will be waiting for you at the ship! During embarkation check-in, our team will hand you a sealed welcome envelope containing all the tickets you earned from your storefront purchases. You can then distribute those tickets into the specific prize bags of your choosing at the hospitality desk.
When and where will the winner of The Grand Drawing be announced?
The drawing will be held live onboard the Celebrity Beyond during the event. The exact day, time, and venue will be highlighted within our official onboard itinerary so the entire community can gather to celebrate the winners together at sea.
Where do the charitable proceeds from the memorabilia sales go?
A portion of the proceeds from all memorabilia sales will be donated to support the growth and education of junior, young adult, and competitive dancers. We are currently exploring partnerships with established 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations within the West Coast Swing community—such as SwingDanceSport and the Young Adult Swing Dance Association (YASDA)—to serve as the official charitable beneficiaries of this fundraiser. The final organization will be confirmed and announced to all guests prior to sailing!
VII. Policies, Deadlines & Protections
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Because Dancecation at Sea is a highly exclusive, closed-group event, all Event Passes are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable upon purchase. Stateroom cancellations are governed by Celebrity Cruises’ standard guidelines, with our absolute final deadline for paying your cabin balance in full set for November 9, 2026.
What happens if the cruise line needs to change our private dance venues?
While we have strictly contracted our exclusive use of the Rooftop Garden, Destination Gateway, and The Club, Celebrity Cruises always retains the operational right to adjust venue allocations across the ship for safety, weather, or navigational reasons. In the rare event of a venue shift, our team will work closely with ship management to relocate our private events to the most suitable alternative space available. While we will make every effort to ensure the schedule continues seamlessly, if an appropriate venue cannot be secured at that time, that specific activity may need to be adjusted or temporarily suspended.
What happens if Celebrity Cruises cancels or changes a Port of Call?
Cruising in the Caribbean requires flexibility. While our itinerary is carefully planned, the ship’s Captain always prioritizes guest safety and may occasionally alter the route or cancel a port stop due to unpredictable weather or local port conditions. If Celebrity Cruises cancels a port of call and does not substitute an alternative, any port fees associated with that specific destination will be refunded to your onboard account as dictated by standard cruise line policy. However, itinerary deviations do not constitute a cancellation of the event itself and are not grounds for a refund of your Event Pass.
What happens to my excursions if a port is canceled?
If the ship is unable to dock in St. Kitts & Nevis or the Dominican Republic due to unforeseen conditions, any guests who have purchased our private, talent-led group excursions for those specific ports will receive a full and immediate refund for the cost of that excursion.
What if I have a medical emergency while at sea?
The Celebrity Beyond is equipped with a state-of-the-art medical center staffed by licensed physicians and nurses. We highly recommend all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance to protect their vacation investment and cover any unforeseen medical or travel disruptions.
Who do I contact if I have further questions?
